The votes have been tallied and Game & Fish readers have chosen the Summit Viper SD as the number one climbing stand in the 2013 Game & Fish Sportsman Readers’ Choice Awards. Tree stands were just 1 of the 18 categories of new-gear in the survey conducted over a six week period earlier this year. The rules require that entries must have been introduced in the last three years to be considered for the awards. After product submissions were received, Game & Fish then queried subscribers and e-newsletter recipients to determine their favorite gear. “The entire team at Summit is excited about being selected for this award,” says Summit Treestands General Manager, David South. “We all believe that the Viper SD is truly a great climbing stand, and it’s very rewarding to learn that the majority of these hunters feel the same way.”
When asked about the awards program, Game & Fish publisher, Peter Gross said, “The sportsman market is flooded with new products and technologies each year meant to increase the success and enjoyment of our time outdoors. Nothing validates the effectiveness of these products more than the experience and opinions of the avid core enthusiasts who use them-Game & Fish readers. This seemed like a natural for us to survey our monthly audience of over 5 million readers’ to find out what products they have tried in the field and believe in. No amount of “product testing” or “expert advice” can replace this hands-on experience offered by these influencers.”
First introduced in 2011, the Viper SD features Dead Metal Sound Dampening Technology. This proprietary process greatly reduces unwanted noise when hard objects make contact with the stand. Combine this with Rapid Climb® stirrups, QuickDraw® cable system, SummitLokt® design, padded Realtree® camouflaged seat/ arm pads, bungee back pack straps, bungee umbilical strap and you can see why the Viper SD, quickly became Summit’s number one selling stand…all for a MSRP of $279.99.
