Repair & Replace

Summit replacement parts are for the hunters looking to maintain a stand that performs season after season.

A quality treestand is a long-term investment. Summit’s replacement parts catalog covers every component that takes the most abuse: climbing cables, foot stirrups, seat cushions, armpads, straps, and safety ropes. Each part is engineered to the same spec as the original, so swapping in a replacement means your stand hunts like new without the cost of starting over.

Comfort upgrade or critical repair?

Not every replacement part serves the same purpose. Some are safety-critical and others are comfort upgrades that extend how long you can stay in the stand. Here’s how to think through what you need:

  • Safety-critical components (replace before hunting): Replacement Cables, Locking Carabiners, and safety ropes should be inspected before every season and replaced immediately if frayed, corroded, or damaged. There is no acceptable level of visible wear.
  • Seat and comfort upgrades (extend your sit): The Mesh Seat, Surround Seat, Dual Position Seat, and Zippered Arm Pads are performance upgrades as much as replacements. A better seat means longer sits, less movement, and more opportunities at mature deer.
  • Need more than a replacement part? — If your stand needs new accessories rather than replacement components like bow holders, camera arms, or storage, see the full treestand accessories page. For harness-specific safety hardware, visit harness accessories.

FAQ

What Summit replacement parts are compatible with my specific treestand model?

Compatibility varies by part. The Replacement Cables and RapidClimb® Stirrups are compatible with all Summit climbing treestands. The Dual Position Seat + Armpads fits any climber with a front bar. When in doubt, reference your stand’s manual at the Summit Manual Repository or contact Summit customer service.

How do I know when to replace the cables on my climbing treestand?

Inspect your climbing cables before every season and before each use. Replace Replacement Cables immediately if you notice fraying, kinking, corrosion, broken strands, or damage to the shrink tubing. Cables transfer your body weight during every climb and there is no acceptable level of visible damage. If the shrink tube is cracked or missing but the cable itself is intact, Replacement Shrink Tube is available separately to restore sound-deadening protection without replacing the full cable pair.

What’s the difference between the Mesh Seat and the Dual Position Seat?

The Mesh Seat and Mesh Seat + Armpads use a suspended mesh design for breathability — the right upgrade for warm-weather hunters who run hot or hunt long sits in early season. The Dual Position Seat is foam-padded with adjustable height via slide bar buckles, designed for hunters who use the same stand for both bow and rifle seasons.

Which replacement seat is best for bowhunters?

The Dual Position Seat in its high position offers maximum front-bar clearance for a full draw while seated; the same flush-with-the-bar seated position is available with the Mesh Seat as well.

What are RapidClimb® Stirrups and are they better than toe straps?

The RapidClimb® Stirrups are a step-in foot retention system that come standard on Summit climbing treestands. They’re ergonomically shaped, adjustable to most boot sizes, and include a heel bungee for a secure fit. Most hunters find them easier to use and more comfortable during longer climbs than traditional toe straps.

How often should I replace treestand straps and harness tethers?

TMA guidelines recommend inspecting all straps, tethers, and ropes before every use and replacing them after any fall event, or after 3–5 years of regular use. UV exposure, moisture, and abrasion degrade synthetic webbing over time, even when it looks intact. For fall arrest ropes, see the harness accessories page for the 30 Ft. Safety Line and 8 Ft. Lineman’s Rope replacement options.

Can I use the safety ropes on this page with any full-body harness?

Yes. The 8 Ft. Lineman’s Rope and 30 Ft. Safety Line are compatible with any full-body fall arrest harness with standard carabiner attachment points. Always pair them with a Locking Carabiner at every connection point. For the complete safety system, visit the harness accessories page or browse Summit’s full harness lineup.

How do I install replacement shrink tube on my climbing treestand cables?

The Replacement Shrink Tube slides over the cable at contact points and is heat-shrunk in place using a heat gun or lighter. This eliminates metal-to-metal contact that creates noise when setting up your climbing treestand. Installation instructions are included.

Are replacement parts covered under Summit’s warranty?

Summit’s limited lifetime warranty covers structural defects in materials and workmanship on Summit treestands — it does not cover normal wear on consumable components like cables, and seats. Replacement parts purchased separately are covered for manufacturing defects. For complete details and to register your stand, visit the Warranty Information page or register your product online. If you believe a component failed due to a manufacturing defect, contact Summit Customer Service directly.
